    Act 1 of 5: the table

    How many of you?

    From 3 players. One iPhone in the middle, everyone picks an avatar.

    On first launch, the app asks how many of you are playing, your first names, then the rule.

  2. Keyboard: Tab to the card, then press Space.

    Act 2 of 5: the deal

    Shh.

    The phone goes from hand to hand. Everyone checks their card in secret: the civilians all share one word, the impostor gets none.

    Cards can also show the theme: that’s all the impostor has to bluff with.

  3. Act 3 of 5: the debate

    One clue each.

    Everyone gives a clue about their word without saying it. The impostor wings it. Then the table debates.

    Drew a blank? ⋯ menu › “See my card again”: the timer pauses and the card comes back.

  4. Act 4 of 5: the vote

    The table decides.

    The table votes. Hold to vote a player out.

  5. Act 5 of 5: the verdict

    The mask comes off.

    Max was the impostor. Civilians win.

    Once exposed, the impostor gets one last chance: guess the civilians’ word and steal the round.

Word or no word?

On first launch, the app asks how your table plays. One tap picks it, and you can switch anytime in “Play”.

  • Default

    No word

    The civilians share one word. The impostor gets none: they know it, and bluff with the theme when the pack has one.

    • Every card can show the theme, the civilians’ cards included.
    • Once caught, the impostor gets one guess at the civilians’ word. Guess right and they steal the round.

  • The classic rule

    Close word

    The impostor gets a word close to the civilians’. By default, nobody sees their role: the impostor only finds out at the verdict.

    • “Show roles” prints it on every card.
    • Nobody knows if they’re the impostor: everyone listens for the word that doesn’t fit.
